TASK 1: Social Media Presentation

We will be looking at the rubric and what is expected of you in regards to the Social Media Presentation.

Take about 10-15 minutes to make any changes or discuss any changes that need to be made to your presentation.

TASK 2: What was going on in the 2000's?

While V for Vendetta by Alan Moore was a direct commentary on the Thatcher administration, McTeigue's re-imagination of the novel is a commentary on the Bush administration in the early 2000's.

We will watch the short video about what happened in the Abu Ghraib prisons in the 2000's.

TASK 3:
We will be watching the film V for Vendetta (2006) directed by James McTeigue.
While watching please complete the following:

Fill out the handout given, keep an eye out for:
  • Plot:
    • What is the film about?
    • Was it believable?
    • How did setting affect the story?
  • Themes and Tone:
    • What was the general goal of the movie?
    • To educate? Entertain?
    • Was there a strong impression left behind?
  • Directing:
    • Did you like how the director chose to tell the story?
    • Was the pacing of the film too fast or too slow?
    • Was the storytelling too complex or straightforward?
  • Cinematography:
    • Were the shots used in a particular way to tell the story?
    • Did the coloring and lighting affect the tone?
    • Were actors or settings framed well?
  • Music and Score:
    • Did the music support the mood of the movie?
    • Was it too distracting or subtle?
    • Were the music queues timed well for the scenes they were supporting?
  • Acting:
    • Did you like how the characters were portrayed?
    • Did the acting support the characters, and help them come to life?
    • Did the characters display complex personalities or were they stereotypical?
  • Production Design:
    • Did the sets feel lived in and believable to the character?
    • Were the costumes suitable for the characters or story?
  • Editing:
    • Was the editing clean or choppy?
    • Was the flow consistent?
    • How were transitions between scenes?
  • Dialogue:
    • Were the conversations believable and necessary?
    • Did the words match the tone of the movie and personality of the characters?
  • Special Effects:
    • Were the special effects believable?
    • Did they align with the era and tone of the film?
